Our Staff

Pastor Paul Spaude grew up in northern Wisconsin and graduated from Antigo High School. He attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in the Pastoral Ministry. He then attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI and graduated in 2017 with a Master of Divinity. While attending Seminary, he served Sure Foundation Lutheran Church in Queens, NY for one year as a pastoral intern. After graduation, he served Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN as an instructor of Bible History and a dormitory supervisor. He moved to Niles in August of 2019 to serve St. Matthew’s as their pastor.

He married his wife, Allison, in June of 2019. Pastor Paul and Allison have three kids Emma, Harper, and Judah. They love the many attractions Chicagoland has for small kids! Keep an eye out for them at the Kohl Children Museum, watching the swans at Golf Mill Park, or relaxing at Gillson Beach.

Pastor Paul enjoys meeting one-on-one and in small groups with people who are curious to learn more about God and the love he has for us. He finds it a special privilege to teach about the Bible and to share the great news of Jesus and his forgiveness.
